Durotech Industries provided waterproofing solutions for Outlook Pavilion residential developments, situated in the peaceful Brisbane inner city Toowong.

Challenge

This design prioritises openness, views, and seamless indoor-outdoor living with almost no visual structure. That aesthetic ambition places high demands on structural engineering precision, high-performance glazing/pocket systems, continuous waterproofing membranes with excellent drainage, and meticulous junction detailing. Ensuring all habitable areas are taken into consideration waterproofing systems with selecting the best membranes available. Feature stone walls with stone weight, height and weather conditions are accounted for.

Solution

Durotech Industries worked closely with waterproofing applicators to provide custom product specifications for each distinct wet area in the project. External planter boxes utilised an anti-root polyurethane membrane with a continuous water based polyurethane capping membrane that wraps over the façade and balconies. Exterior stone walls protected with a high-performance cementitious membrane to ensure great bonding strength of the feature walls stone, crazy pave tiling areas and cold room.

Outcome

Waterproofing works at Outlook Pavilion were completed to a high standard across all critical areas, delivering durable protection that supports the pavilion’s architectural design.
