104 College Street – Tennis Court Waterproofing & Sports Coating

📍 Location: Sydney CBD, NSW 2000, Australia

📅 Date: 01 Oct 2014

Short Summary

Waterproofing and sports coating of a roof-deck tennis court on a high-rise residential building in Sydney’s Central Business District.
Eric Pearce (Durotech Accredited Applicator) removed the existing coating, applied Duromix Epoxycoat primer and Duroma

Challenge

The roof deck had failing or unsuitable existing coating and needed a full refurbishment.

The client required a waterproof, trafficable surface suitable for a tennis court, with proper preparation, joint sealing for movement, and a non-slip finish for court lines and playability.

Solution

Eric Pearce removed the existing coating with a high-powered concrete grinder to expose sound concrete.

The substrate was primed with Duromix Epoxycoat two-part water-based epoxy; a second coat was applied for adhesion and extra waterproofing. Flexible neutral-cure silicone joint sealant was installed at all wall/floor junctions and other joints to allow for movement.

Two coats of Duromastic AC Sports were applied, followed by Duromastic AC Non-Slip (White) for tennis court line marking.

Outcome

The roof deck was fully waterproofed and converted into a durable, playable tennis court.

The client received a long-lasting, trafficable surface with correct line marking and a finish suitable for high-rise rooftop use in the Sydney CBD.
